Call me what you will – Luddite, old fart... I like it REAL. I want salt on my eggs, garlic in my soup, butter on my pastry. I will pay to hear real talent.

To micah, yes, I much enjoyed your Gag(a) review, Camille entertains and is spot-on. Gaga is only one example of the flood of non-talent that we're bombarded with and people are lapping it up. No wonder we listen to 40 year old music and appreciate it like fine vintage wine.

It's all been downhill since that white truck driver from Tupelo shook his hips on Ed Sullivan. Disgraceful! It will lead to miscegenation and the corruption of our fine Christian youth.

How many folks that criticize Lady Gaga have actually listened to her?

And I think Paglia is full of shit on most topics. BUT I like to read her, just like I always like to read Christopher Hitchens, who I also often end up disagreeing with. In truth, I think Paglia and Lady Gaga share a lot in common in how they grab the spotlight.

Why doesn't anyone pick on the Sufi's or the agnostics or the Gnostics . ? ;-)

And speaking of Mr. Hitchens , an article from yesterday .

And I thought it was all downhill since Caligula ( all those Senators wives , ect.), or earlier perhaps ?

Well, if you search around some threads, you'll see me "arguing" that it all went down at the Council of Nicea -
Here it is:

When the thread pops up , BAM . That's a great image for that thread . And sadly , how true it is . Some pissed off people in that thread . But what did momma say ? Don't talk religion or politics in public .
I like what Ghandi said . It's something I'm going through in my life at the moment . Boy , I love the baby Jesus Christ , it's all the damn Christians I can't handle .
Except you Bill .

Curses! I will not take on Rob, cuz he's right.

My fault for using Gaga as an example... I have heard two of her "songs" and they are cleverly crafted drivel. I'll give her credit for showmanship, but I'd rather see the circus.

Twas ever thus - marketing drowns out talent. If JG emerged on the scene today, would we even know it?
